There's something about Israel

There is something about Israel that makes people uncomfortable, and they don’t say what it is. They will point to politics, settlements and wars, but if you scratch a bit beneath the layer of anger you will discover something deeper: discomfort. Not what Israel does, but what Israel is.

A country so small – shouldn’t be so strong. Period. Israel has no oil, No extraordinary natural resources, a population the size of a medium-sized American city. It is surrounded by enemies, hated by the United Nations. Attacked by terrorism, condemned by celebrities. boycotted, vilified, attacked. And yet it thrives like there’s no tomorrow.

In the military, in medical, in security, in technology, in agriculture, in Intelligence.

In morality and in an uncapturable willpower. They turn a desert in into a blooming field. They produce water from the air, they intercept missiles in midair, they rescue hostages from under the noses of brutal regimes, they survive wars that were supposed to destroy them – and win.

The world sees it and fails to understand. So they do what people do when they encounter power they don’t have the tools to understand. They assume it is a fraud. That it is thanks to America, that it is thanks to a foreign lobby. That it is thanks to oppression, that it is thanks to theft. That it is some dark conspiracy that gave Jews such power. That its blackmail, because God forbid that it’s something else. God forbid that it is real, God forbid that they deserve it, or worse that it is faith. The Jewish people were supposed to disappear a long, long time ago. This is how the history of persecuted, enslaved and that hated minorities is supposed to end.

But Jews did not disappear, They returned home.

They rebuilt their country, they revived their language and they brought their dead back to life, with memory, identity and power. This is not normal, this is not political. This is Biblical. There is no secret code that explains how people returns to their land after 2000 years. There is no rational path from poison gas to global influence. And the is no historical precedent for someone surviving the Babylonians, the Romans, the Crusaders, the Inquisition, the pogroms and the Holocaust, and still coming to work on a Sunday in Tel Aviv - Israel is irrational.

There is a war and the Israelis are doing everything to return to it. Israel is not rational, unless you believe in something beyond simple arithmetic. And that is what drives the world crazy. Because if Israel is real, if this ancient hated, impossible nation is truly chosen, protected and thriving – maybe God is not a legend. Maybe He is still part of the story. Maybe history isn’t random, maybe evil hasn’t had the last word. Maybe the Jews are not just a people – but a testimony – and this is what people cannot bear.

Because if they admit that Israel’s survival is not just impressive – but divine -everything changes. The moral conscience must be readjusted.the assumptions about history, about power, about justice – collapse They understand that they do not see the end of an empire here, but the beginning of something eternal. So they deny it. They slander it, and they are angry about it. Because it is easier to call a miracle; a fraud, than to admit that God keeps His promises, and yes He keeps them!

So let us go a little deeper in the “little somethings” (?) that seemingly disturb so many people. If you are a Christian you need to know what Israel also means to you! So what does the name Israel really stand for? Therefore we have to go back to where the name Israel appears for the first time: in the Bible, in Genesis 32:28 the story that Jacob fights with the angel: “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.”

Originally the Bible was written in Hebrew: translated to Hebrew and Israel is written like this: אלֵ רָשְׂ יִ or (Ysra’el). Jewish names always have a meaning, the first 3 letters read > “Isra” which translated means “straight” like a straight road, and the 2 last letters read > EL which means “God”. So in plain English the name Israel means to be straight with God, believing and following Him. As a matter of fact they identify Gods’ chosen people, chosen for a purpose, meaning God contents or who struggles with God. This is confirmed in the scriptures in Isaiah 44:1 : Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen.

In 1948 when the British mandate authorised the Jews to return to their promised land, not knowing which name they had to give to their land, its was called Palestine by the British! Please note that the state of Palestine doesn’t exist and never has existed before as a nation. At the time that they were allowed to return to their promised land, the Jews didn’t know how to name their land, but nonetheless decided unanimously to name it Israel. And the State of Israel was founded in 1 day on May 15th 1948 and officially recognized by the United Nations as a nation. But many nations want now to recognize Palestine as a nation. But how can a nation without land even exist ?

It is very important to know that God makes the distinction between the nation, which is determined by its geographical territory with recognized borders, and the people, the Israeli families, His jewels. How then shall we distinguish Gods’ people and other people with another bloodline having an Israeli passport. According to the Bible, people born from a Jewish mother are considered Jews. The word Jew = דיִיהוְּ Yehudi derived from the area of Juda (Israel). How important is the name Israel for God, Well, numbers cannot lie : The word Israel appears 2.431 times in the Bible! How many times does the word Palestine appears in the Bible: 0 times!

The city of Jerusalem is mentioned 669 times in the Tanakh, the original Hebrew Bible and 149 times in the New Testament. The Koran doesn’t mention Jerusalem but only refers to the Al-Aqsa mosque which was built on the remains of the destroyed Jerusalem temple.

Also God loves His people so much that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus, who when He was living among the Jews in Israel was called Yeshua ישוע which is a verbal derivative from the verb “to deliver”, to rescue. Yeshua is also a common alternative to the name Yehoshua עַ שֻׁ יהוְֹ”He who saves. The word “Messiah חַ שׁיִ מָ meaning “the anointed one (from God)” God said “Fear not” 365 times in His word, so once for each day of the year! When people who speak Hebrew meet they greet each other with the word Shalom שׁלוֹםָ one word which means “ may peace be with you” or “how is your peace today”. Shalom has another meaning when we would analyse the gematria (= numerical value of each letter) read info study> (UK26).

The Israeli people are a peace loving people who even today manifest by the tens of thousands on the street who manifest that the war in Gaza must stop. The people of Israel didn’t start this war but were brutally attacked by “Hamas”, this word in Hebrew מסָ חָ means violence!

I am sure that you and many more people all over the world have seen the news related to the beastly aggression of Hamas against the people at the israeli Kibutz near the border with Gaza on Oct.7 2023, a shabbat day which normally should have been celebrated as תורה שמח Simcha Tora “Joy of the Torah” but a day of celebration started as another war of terror against Israel!

The world became divided with the condemnations and judgments that followed the forcefull response of seeing the Israeli Defence Force, bombing many hideouts of Hamas fighters in apartment buildings, but also some other places which were used as human shields, like schools and hospitals, with underground stockpiles of weapons, ammunition and even rockets. Electricity, Internet, telephones, food, water and medecine were cut off. But that what caused the most condemnations were caused by seeing the many women and children killed in the war zones as collateral damage. The UN Security concil strongly condemened Israel for a disproportionate response and even South Africa accused Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice at The Hague with its profoundly distorted visual factual and legal picture.

This is how politics and many nations saw it, but also a lot of people from different backgrounds, religions and education judged Israel for what they considered, “their unlawfull response” in the Gaza conflict. However we have two realms in the world we live in : The visible carnal world and the invisible

spiritual world and there is a huge world of difference between them!

So now let us see through the eyes of God and find out what He sees:

Zechariah 2:8: “For he who touches you [Israel], touches the apple of His eye.”

THE "BORN AGAIN" PROMISED LAND Other gods such as the god of the Muslims are raging against Israel because their god(s) are NOT the true God who created heaven and earth. This means that the God of Israel has revealed the nations and organizations which have not accepted the God of Israel. Their god(s) are the enemies of the Lord and His chosen people and also the people who have accepted Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel in their heart. Many people are raging because they condemn Israel for the many dead children caused by the IDF bombing in Gaza. But they do not see it through the eyes of God because Jesus said in Matt.19:14 “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Unbelievers ignorant of the Word of God do not understand that children who’s life on earth is taken away from are going straight to heaven because there is no judgment resting upon them as they are innocent. More so, the Palestinian parents of these deceased children will be judged as all the unbelievers will be before the Judgment Seat of Christ at the end of the Tribulation period. However these Palestinians may still be given the chance that they can be saved by accepting Jesus as their Redeemer and Savior but is depending upon the Grace of God who has compassion with the unnecessary suffering by the loss of innocent young children and hardship that many Palestinians parents will still have to endure now and in a near future.

Innocent Israeli people experience racism, blind hate injustice and lack of security but where does this hate come from? Who does generate it? The spiritual and invisible enemy of both Israel and the Jews. Devils and demon driven people who since the Jews returned to their land and they use politics to militarize their war. It is a religious war!

They are spreading their hate campaigns into the whole world. Besides rockets, bullets and booby traps they use propaganda to spread lies, fake news and accusations to slander and hope that the world will impose sanctions on Israel. But please understand that God is now again writing history, He doesn’t slumber nor sleep and miracles do not belong to the past as they are happening daily in Irael. Also be aware that what God has blessed no man can curse and if the curse is uttered, it befall on their own heads. But here is another scripture which we encourage you to pray : Psalm 122:6: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. In Genesis 12:3: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

We should not forget that if we have Jesus in our hearts, we will be part of those who will join Jesus when He returns to Jerusalem and will not only be children of God but also will be children of the kingdom of everlasting peace.

If you never had the opportunity to visit Israel and Jerusalem you are cordially invited to view the movie "I AM ISRAEL"

There are some very beautiful places to visit in Jerusalem like the Garden of Gethsemane shown below left with very old olive trees whom must be of the time that Jesus wept in the garden before he was taken by the soldiers of the High Priest and taken to the Sanhedrin. The Mount of Olives shown below on the right, which is the place where Jesus did ascend to heaven and where he will return when he comes to enter into Jerusalem by the Eastern Gate, sitting on a white horse to remove the antichrist from the (3rd!) Temple and throw him in the bottomless pit. (book of Revelation)

Upon the return of Yeshua / Jesus, there will be peace everlasting, like it was in the Garden of Eden, before the sin of Adam and Eve. Rev.21:3-5: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. AMEN
